SARAH LUCAS
Project Coordinator
As a Junior in High School, Sarah Lucas has always had a passion for saving this planet. Sarah is a researcher, writer, and problem solver who dedicated this year to studying plastic eatting bacteria to one day rid landfils of plastic build up. From there she was recognized with a Meritorious Award at Long Island Science Congress, and 2nd Place at Schreiber Science Fair. She also hopes to one day publish her children's poetry book about the affects that plastic pollution has on this world. When she isn't in the classroom you can find her rowing, tutoring, or making art. Through volunteer tutoring she understands the importance of accessible school supplies on education, and as a Varsity Rower she witnesses first-hand how plastic affects our coastlines and ecosystems. She hopes to make a change, even if it is only one bottle at a time.
